6/16/10 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

Everyday my husband and I have been walking the beach for at least 30 minutes.  It's nice because the dolphins seem to follow us on our walks in the morning.  We've seen at least over 30 dolphins since the start of our trip.  The killer for me is the heat.  Yesterday the temperature was 96 degrees but with the heat index it was 108.  This made the UV rays extremely strong and the likelihood of burning even greater.  Pregnant women tend to get more overheated and burn more easily.  By the end of the walks each day I am literally dripping with sweat.  It looks as if I have just taken a dip in the swimming pool.  I worry that I'm going to get the baby overheated too so I try to always bring a water bottle to keep myself extremely hydrated.  Even though the heat has been excruciating everyday we are having an amazing time!

 

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast - 

Spoonful of eggs on 2 slice whole wheat toast with tomato

Banana

Fat-free yogurt

Lunch - 

1/2 whole wheat sandwich (thin slice of turkey with lettuce and tomato)

3/4 cup of strawberries

Snack - 

Carrots with 2 tbsp. light ranch

Dinner - 

Whole wheat sub with tomato and thin slices of fresh mozzarella on the grill

Salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese) fat-free yogurt

Snack - 

1 scoop of chocolate yogurt
