Why is it so necessary to own measuring cups and a food scale? These tools help you to get real, be honest with yourself about what a REAL portion size is. Trust me, it's much easier to "cheat" if you're just guessing on how much a cup of pasta is. Honestly these items will teach you what real portion sizes are and educate you on exactly how much you're eating (because you'll know if you're having more than one serving size). In fact, on everydayhealth.com they wrote about a national survey that interviewed 6,000 adults and it determined that people who measured their food were more successful at losing/keeping the weight off than people who were not. It really does not take that much more "work" to put your food on a scale or measure it in a cup. If it will help you to be successful then why not?!
